Charles graduated in music from King's College London. He then went on to study Music Therapy, Music Information Technology and started a career in music education, in which he has always been in some way associated, either through teaching pupils, teaching teachers, or running various instrumental and choral groups with young people. It was his interest in education and working with young musicians that encouraged him to become a prolific arranger and to write original music that was both appealing, fun to perform and not too technically demanding. Hence an output of easily accessible and memorable works.
Charles' sense of humour is often in evidence in his works, and he never loses sight of the need for music to communicate with others. After depriving the world for so long, he has now decided to publish his music for all to enjoy, both on scorchmusic, and under the imprint Evanly Music.
